Join 40 Below’s It’s All Here task force on June 1^st at The Elbow Room Tavern in Hanover Square for a Gatsby and Gangsters celebration of Syracuse in the roaring ‘20s as well as the recent release of The Great Gatsby.

Enjoy drink specials, including specialty drinks such as Manhattans, Martinis and Mint Juleps in addition to an exclusive tapas menu from Anthony’s Pasta Bar and relish in all that Syracuse and the era had to offer. The Onondaga Historical Association (OHA) will be sponsoring a costume contest, the winner of which will receive an OHA gift basket, including a growler and free fill up from Empire, among other items. Join us for drinks and the announcement of the Passport to Syracuse winners! Celebrate a great two weeks with  40 Below, SyracuseFirst and your fellow Passport to Syracuse participants. Be sure to bring your paper passports if you used them-we will be counting final points during the party!

IMPORTANT: Electronic and paper submissions for Passport will close at 7:00pm on 7/28/12. Final paper passports must be received before 7:00pm. Winners will be announced at 8:00pm. You must be present for announcement to win. You must be 21 or over with valid ID to enter Benjamin’s on Franklin. 

You have probably needed access to an online calculator at least once in your life to be able to calculate various things such as acceleration of a car given in km/hr2 to mile/hr2. The advancement of technology allowed us to user online calculators for various things such as acceleration, agnle and area units conversions.

Through the use of angle units calculator, you can convert angle units such as radians to degrees, grad to radians etc. The calculator is also super easy to use. You pick the angle units you want to convert, then pick a target unit and click convert. Same goes for the area units, you can pick an area unit such as square meter, choose a target unit such as square feet and choose convert. It’s that easy to utilize the area units calculator.

Finally, to convert acceleration units, you can utilize the acceleration units calculator and handle your acceleration unit calculations easily within a couple minutes.

Family Fun Summer Picnic. Saturday, July 14th. 12:00-4:00pm. Sharkey’s.

Bring the family, bring your sneakers, and most importantly bring your appetite!  Come on down to Sharkey’s outdoor area in Liverpool and join 40 Below for a Family Fun Summer Picnic! The kids will never get bored with all day backyard games, arts and crafts, races, face painting and more.  To satisfy those competitive family members, there will be beach volleyball, KanJam, cornhole and other fun yard games.  Make sure to stop and eat! Hot dogs, hamburgers and more summer favorites will be served from 1-3 pm.  You even may notice some of your favorite community organizations there too!

Repainting arterie. June 23-24, 2011 Erie Blvd.

Join the 40 Below Public Arts Task Force and the Erie Canal Museum as they turn a former stretch of the Erie Canal to water once again with the repainting of arterie, a public art project that celebrates the impact of the Erie Canal on Central New York’s history. Don’t miss this opportunity to paint the streets on Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th! Bring your friends and family (children of all ages are welcome!) and take part in this public arts project that celebrates a piece of Syracuse history!

About arterie: arterie is a public art project led by the 40 Below Public Arts Task Force and the Erie Canal Museum. This two-block long street painting in downtown Syracuse celebrates the Erie Canal and its impact in Central New York. First installed in July 2011, the painting stretches from Clinton Sq to the intersection of Erie, Oswego, and Montgomery, the former path of the canal through Syracuse.
